Generic Description of Duties:
The CIS Network Administrator is to be directly responsible to the Foreman of Signals for day-to-day administration of the CIS Network primarily focused on third line support for the BATUK Phoenix Information System (BPIS).
Main Duties:
3rd Line Support and Maintenance for BPIS
Installation and upgrade of firmware for all BPIS hardware (UAD, Servers, Firewalls, Storage, Network Switches)
Troubleshooting and rectifying all software and hardware related issues.
Maintaining of the exchange server.
Maintenance of the switches and the firewalls.
Quarterly health checks of BPIS.
Maintenance of the Barracuda firewall.
Maintaining SSL, domain name and the relevant DNS.
Network monitoring to pre-empt and rectify issues within the CIS systems.
Providing feedback to customers on relevant Incidents Reports/Request For Change submitted.
Assist and advise CIS Ops Team with the installation and management of new CIS hardware and software.
Liaison with various commercial service providers and contractors. Advise CIS Ops on cost of hardware and software repair / replacement.
Secondary Duties:
Cover Network Manager when on short term absence.
Support Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for all CIS faults which involves receiving, logging and forwarding Incidents Reports/Request For Change to resolver groups.
Support BPIS 1st and 2nd Line management as requested.
Carry out any other duties commensurate with the trade/grade as directed by the MLM.

Essential Qualifications:
Microsoft Exchange Administrator 2019 or equivalent
Fortinet Certified Fundamentals
CompTIA Server+
Microsoft Server 2022 Admin
Essential experience:
IT Networks and Security.
Microsoft Server, Active Directory and Exchange.
Programme and Project Management
Excellent written and oral English skills.
Desirable:
ITIL4 Foundation.
Service Desk experience.
Networking Experience.
Familiar with Military structures and ranks.
Working Together.
Well organised and punctual.
Must have experience of working in an office environment.
Training Requirements:
Introduction to CIS systems and management.
On the Job training on various procedures and working practices.
